International Female Ride Day, which is celebrated annually on the first weekend in May, is a popular time for women motorcyclists to get together with friends. This year, Sea-Doo decided to do something a little different — though, thankfully, not in May. With the waters of Lake Michigan just beginning to warm up enough for summer fun, Sea-Doo brought ambassador Alvean Azurin to Chicago to show us the latest and greatest personal watercraft. Uncharted Society, an organization that works to make all powersports more accessible, assisted in our quest. We chatted with Alvean after the event to get the details on what it’s like to travel the world by Sea-Doo.

Hi, Alvean! Can you introduce yourself, and talk a bit about how you ended up in your role with Sea-Doo?
Hi! I’m Alvean Azurin—an adventure content creator and proud Sea-Doo Ambassador. Over a decade ago, I discovered my love for riding personal watercraft. What started as a fun way to explore the water quickly turned into a full-on passion. I began capturing my adventures on video, originally just to hold onto the memories—but that hobby grew into something much bigger: a YouTube channel dedicated to my Sea-Doo lifestyle.
Sea-Doo recognized the energy and love I had for riding, exploring, and inspiring others to get out on the water. That connection led to the incredible opportunity to become an official Sea-Doo Ambassador. Now, four years into this role, I’m enjoying the ride more than ever—literally and figuratively! Sharing this lifestyle and empowering others through it has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

Now that the Sea-Doo International Women’s Ride Day events are over, what are some of your best memories of them?
It’s hard to pick just one—but what stands out most are the smiles. Not just seeing them, but feeling the excitement radiate from every woman out there. Whether it was someone riding a Sea-Doo for the very first time, someone pushing through fear, or simply sharing laughter with new friends—it was powerful. One of the most beautiful things to witness was the transformation. From hesitant to confident. From nervous to empowered. You could literally see the shift by the end of each ride. That energy, that joy, that sense of “I did it”—those are the moments I’ll never forget.

What makes Chicago stand out from other cities where the event was hosted?
Chicago brought the heat in a totally different way—with cold water, open-lake conditions, and a serious test of grit. Nestled on the banks of the stunning Lake Michigan, the city offered a dramatic backdrop of the skyline and wide-open waters that were as beautiful as they were unpredictable. Of all the women’s events, Chicago was the most challenging—from chilly temps to choppy waves—but these incredible women showed up and showed out. I was so proud watching them push through the discomfort, apply the safety and riding tips I gave them, and truly step outside their comfort zones. And once the adrenaline kicked in, I swear—it’s like the cold didn’t even exist. Fear didn’t win that day. They rode through it and were rewarded with the breathtaking beauty that only Chicago can offer from the water.
How does a Sea-Doo make for a unique sightseeing experience?
One-of-a-kind sightseeing experience that blends thrill, freedom and up-close exploration in ways traditional tours can’t match. That’s the type of experiences you can get with Uncharted Society.
What advice would you share with a first-time personal watercraft rider?
Start with an open mind—and don’t overthink it. Riding a Sea-Doo or any PWC is all about balance, confidence, and fun. It’s okay to feel a little nervous at first, but remember: every experienced rider once had their first day too.
