Alex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing have been so good for so long, even when things don’t go right they know how to make them work. That was the story at Barber today, when they didn’t have enough new tires to run a clean race, but won by 12 seconds anyway.
This resourcefulness puts pressure on their competition, which often seem to crack under the pressure of perfection. Christian Lundgaard had a chance to take the lead with 25 laps to go, but his Arrow-McLaren pit team didn’t handle the pressure, costing him 10 seconds due to a slow tire change.
We break it all down and talk about who had a good day, and who was less than successful during the IndyCar Children’s of Alabama Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park on this episode of Rides & Drives Team Radio.
